Brethren:

When I assumed the Oriental Chair at Philosophic Lodge of Research for the first time three years ago, I wrote that it was an ancient Masonic custom in all regular and well governed Lodges that the Master thank the Brethren for the honor that has been bestowed upon him. That custom certainly has not changed int he past three years, and the honor has grown greater; for between my first installation as Master of Philosophic Lodge of Research and my second, I have come to know you better and my respect has deepened with that knowledge. I thank you for the trust you have placed in me by electing me for another term.

I would like to thank Worshipful Brother Charles "Chuck 2.0" Landau for the outstanding work he did during his year as Master. You certainly have set the bar high, and I doubt that I can draw level with you.

Every Brother of this Lodge is of such a caliber that I find myself reminded of a quote by Mahatma Ghandi: "There go my people. I must follow them, for I am their leader."

I freely admit that it is still intimidating to be charged with "giving good and wholesome instruction" to men that have given so much of their time and talent to the Fraternity; who have acquired the wisdom of a lifetime and whose intellect I can but stand in admiration.

If you have not been to P.L.R. recently, whether you are a member or not, I would like to extend my most sincere invitation for you to join us at our next Stated Communication. Indeed, while we have many skilled presenters, it is the interation between the Brother who delivers the program for the evening and the audience that makes PLR so special.

Every Brother in Masonry has a voice, won't you join us and be heard?
