| Rested and reviving from our Summer slumbers |
![]() Yawn, what is that...September approaches? The heat and lazy days of Summer are fading? Rested and reviving from our Summer slumber, The Philosophic Lodge of Research (PLR) plunges ahead with the search for Light in Freemasonry! The September Trestleboard is being finalized as ANY distraction lures me away (yes, even updating our web site) from the valiant fight against too little space to do our subjects justice. But there is a Civil War book review by WM Justin Duffy as well as the schedule of Presentations for the Fall (so far). September 16 THE CHAMBER OF REFLECTION by WM Justin Duffy of Wyllys-St.John’s # 4 in West Hartford October 21 the 3rd part of WM Don Tansey’s ALCHEMY series, ALCHEMY AND THE THIRD DEGREE OF MASONRY. Don is a Past Master of PLR and current Master of St. John's #6 in Middletown Oh, and if only the year was longer, a Computer Research Session on accessing ALL the PLR and MLR Grand Lodge is posting for CT Freemasons on the web at http://foundation.ctfreemasons.net/index.php/masonic-education.html would be most valuable. So many great resources on the web, we can pursue our inquiries from the comfort of our homes. Don't even get us STARTED on the New Zealand Library's digital efforts! How much can we fit in to the Fall and Winter? You will just have to come out to the Lodge and see. And then there are the presentations at the Blue Lodges we serve, with the ever popular DIVERSITY IN FREEMASONRY, aka Kipling's THE MOTHER LODGE, by our Chaplain at Wyllys St. John’s #4 in West Hartford. While there were vague requests for the QABALAH OF THE LODGE again, no definite dates are currently planned. And PLR 2011 winds up for the year at the December 16th, Annual Meeting and elections. Attendees will receive the Library project so far on CD (physical presence required, sorry). So put it on your calendar now, before December fills up! Lectures requested by other Lodges will appear on the web calendar |
